The hearings aimed at evaluation of notarial system in Ukraine and prospects of its reforming, and were grounded on the relevant Bills submitted for parliamentary consideration.
Effective legislation fails to regulate the following issues: self-government of notaries, principles of organization and conduct of notarial activity, self-financing of notarial activity, establishment of notarial districts, limit of notaries, substitution of a notary, status of an acting notary, etc.
The hearings were attended by the People´s Deputies, the representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Ukrainian Notary Chamber, German Fund for International Legal Cooperation, notarial experts, scientists who take up notary practice, and the representatives of other public associations.
